Baby Shower!

Yesterday my sister-in-law Noelle had a really nice baby shower for me. The food was great and Avery got lots of cute stuff! Noelle also gave her some books and toys that Bridgette and Alex use to play with. How special it is for Avery to be able to play with the same toys as her cousins!

3D Ultrasound

Avery was not very cooperative when we had our ultrasound done. She was a little camera shy and kept covering her face when they tried to get a good picture of her, so we don't have many 3D shots. She has chubby cheeks and a cute little face though! It was neat to watch her move her arms and open and close her mouth...very fascinating. According to this ultrasound (which is not 100% accurate), Avery now weighs a whopping 3.7 pounds! We may not make it until February.....

We haven't figured out how to convert our "video images" into pictures, so I had to submit them as videos. Just hit play to see the pictures!

This is Avery's face!

These are her crossed arms

This is her profile & hands

Profile

If there were any doubts about Avery being a girl, this picture definitely confirmed it!

Two-thirds of the way down!

I promise I don't enjoy posting pictures of myself all the time, but that is the only way to show off our precious baby right now...that will soon change though! Tomorrow we will have our 3D ultrasound and I can't wait! Be sure to check back for the pictures!

And the winner is.....

We have finally decided on a name! We've decided to call our baby girl Avery. We wanted something different and not so common, so we finally settled on Avery. Her middle name will be Jean. My middle name is Jean and my mother's middle name is Jean, so we thought we would carry on the tradition. Jean is also Shayne's grandmother's name, so this will incorporate both families too. Avery Jean King....has a nice ring to it, huh?!?

Happy Halloween!

Sean & Aprile brought Kayden by to trick-or-treat. Kayden loves Dixie, but Dixie was only interested in the people who could pet her.

Dixie is a little unsure about her costume.....

Cheerleading practice...

Our little girl is on the move! She is beginning to move around a lot and lately, it feels like she is attempting to cheer...possibly even doing a stunt or two. I don't mind though, because with every kick and jab is the reassurance that she is ok! Shayne finally got to feel her for the first time the other day. I think she like's to tease her daddy because she would start moving and then stop when he would try to feel her. He finally caught her the other day and now believes that she does in fact move!

I went to the doctor yesterday and everything still looks good. I had to have a RhoGAM shot which wasn't too pleasant. I have a negative blood type and although we don't know what Shayne's is, the chances of it being negative also are very slim. This means that my immune system, which fights off "invaders" to keep me healthy, will recognize the baby's Rh-positive red blood cells as foreign to my Rh-negative blood and will begin producing antibodies intended to destroy the baby's blood cells. Apparently it's not an issue now, but can be for future pregnancies. It all sounds scary, but I've been assured that this shot prevents the problem. I don't go back for another 4 weeks, but before then I will have a 3D ultrasound which we're very excited about!

Sibling rivarly

Dixie is having a difficult time adjusting to the idea of having a "new baby" in the house. Since she believes she is the baby, she finds it hard to believe that there's room for one more. Hopefully once the baby arrives, Dixie will get use to not being an only child anymore!

Registry

Just wanted to let everyone know that we've registered at Babies 'R Us. We had a lot of fun picking out stuff for the baby! And I'm pretty sure she was excited too because she was kicking a lot....she's probably going to take after her mom & be a shopper ;o).

You can find our registry online...just go to www.babiesrus.com & type in my name under the Baby Registry link.

Some light reading....

I couldn't help but to post this picture of Shayne "studying" (yes, that's "What to Expect...")
We had a doctor's appointment today and everything is still looking good! The habitat, I mean belly, was measured for the first time and was right on track....she did however mention that I only need 300 extra calories a day (oops!). Is it really my fault that our little girl craves carbs and sweets?!?

The bump report

I finally decided it was time to take pictures of my growing belly, so here is the first one at 19 weeks.

More pictures

Here are pictures from the latest ultrasound. The first picture is a profile & if you look closely, you can see her lips and nose. The second one is of her face, which looks a little creepy. You can also see her fingers right below her head. The third is of course her cute little feet. The last picture is the money shot...she must be a modest girl, because she wouldn't uncross her legs for us! She finally decided to give us a peek and according to the expert, she is a she! I'm glad they are able to tell, because we sure weren't able to :)
Now if only we could pick a name....

First post...

Hey all! Shayne & I decided to start a blog to keep everyone updated on our baby girl. Here is the first picture of her!
